Welcome to Youth Striving for Excellence!
The Mission of YSE is to reach boys and girls (ages 6-18) in North Memphis teaching them Biblical life-style principles, maturing them in Christ, and encouraging their desire to serve Him.
Through our programs we develop strong relationships with the youth, and give them Godly principles and examples for daily living, thereby breaking the cycles of teenage pregnancy, academic failure, addiction, and abuse.

Youth Striving for Excellence is a Memphis-based not-for-profit organization founded for the furthering of youth, especially from empovershed neighborhoods.

Clara Pearl Lee
Clara Pearl Lee is the Executive Director. She is from Memphis, Tennessee. She has been with the ministry since it's beginning in 1994. She has a passion for working with young people and helping them realize that God has a plan for their life. She knows and loves her calling of "teaching". She is known by her youth as "The Happy Servant of Christ."
Tony Hodges, pastor
Tony Hodges
Tony Hodges is currently serving as the pastor of the Scenic Hills Baptist Church. He is from Indianapolis, Indiana and he has a passion for working with the youth. He believes that there are no bad children and that every man can become a God's Man.Beverly Goliday, Regina Halmon, and Dynisha Lee are also employees of Youth Striving for Excellence.
